About Us : In July 2006, HCCC celebrated a milestone 40 years of excellence in education. It was in the 1960s that the State University of New York Master Plan identified Herkimer County as a potential community college site, a location and a community that showed great promise to support such an important endeavor. Location : Herkimer County Community College's hilltop location overlooking the scenic Mohawk Valley is an ideal learning environment to begin your college education. Herkimer County Community College is located in the small, safe town of Herkimer (Estimated Population of 8,000), near many beautiful lakes and mountains, yet within a four-hour drive of Niagara Falls, New York City, Toronto, Boston and Montreal.
Session Length & Program hours : Spring semester (January-May), Fall semester (September-December). For a 3 credit hours course, average one hour per day in classroom, 3 times a week. For a 4 credit hours course, average 1 hour 50 minutes per day in classroom, 2 times a week.

Since many programs will be fully enrolled by March, you are encouraged to apply by January 15. However:
Apply no later than December 15 if you plan to start in the January term.
Apply by February 1 to be considered for our nursing program.

Students who have taken AP examinations or have completed the International Baccalaureate (IB), German Abitur, French Baccalaureate, or Swiss Maurita may be eligible for college credit and advanced standing. Please note: Utica College will not provide evaluation of international transfer credits prior to acceptance of your application.
